We are absolutely delighted to also have been announced as Winners of the prestigious Manufacturing Excellence Award category at the Family Business Awards at a glittering black-tie ceremony at The Velodrome, Derby Arena on Thursday 9th November.
It was a wonderful evening for Ideal, as the 2017 Winners and Highly Commended in each category were announced in unique surroundings, where finalists, sponsors and judges gathered to celebrate an array of fantastic family businesses.
The Family Business Awards are the UK’s only independent not-for-profit awards for family businesses. Established in 2010, the Family Business Awards is a charitable initiative organised by Nottinghamshire family business The Wilson Organisation. Through the Awards, The Wilson Organisation aim to create an ethical, friendly and supportive community for family businesses.

What the judges wanted to see…
- The management structure of the business and how decisions are made.
- How the family values and the family members have guided the development of the business.
- The key qualities that make the business a candidate for the Manufacturing Excellence award: eg product and market development, financial growth and success, process development, and how we find and retain skilled workers.
- Plans for the business and how current and future generations will be involved.
